Searching for Fish and Surf:)

It is now time to sail to the other side of Sumatra and start hunting for Waves!!! To get there , we have to take Micah through a pass or a gap between islands. It is a tricky one because there is such a current swirlying through this pass and depending on the tides, boats can either go against it or with it... I am soooo disapppointed because we have not caught any fish for two days now! The other day, I was alone on deck while we were sailing, and suddenly one of the fishing lines just went OFF!!! I screamed and shouted for help! That sound of the line going just thrills me!I did not want to take the rod out of its holder just in case I got PULLED into the sea and no-one saw me...By the time Brent came out, the line had gone quiet-the lure was GONE!Snapped off..the pin had bent straight.ahhhhhhhh! It must have been a BEEEGIE! Last Year's Beegies that  NEVER got away:) Since then we have had many schools of dolphins swim with us on both the day and nig...

We are just arriving at the island of Sabang after having spent two long days and nights of non-stop sailing and motoring across the Straitts of Malacca. Indonesians love to litter:( They are very poor and there are always plenty of curious noisy children who seem to play a lot:) They are forever greeting Cally and I with an american accent and a "hello Mister?" Jack and Jacky arrived on Barbara Ann a while before us and they had already anchored in the little port and gone to see what the town was all about.I really wanted to buy some fruit but going ashore meant dressing up in the heat in scarves and long dresses as this area is Muslim. Last night , we arrived in the dark at our anchorage...

MagicalMoments when the dolphins come and play at the bow while we sail:))) Preparing for our departure from Telaga Harbour after filling the tanks. Sunrise... Our Yacht and our South African friends on their huge yacht Abundant Life..      It is already the 17th May 2011! We left Telaga Marina in Langkowi Malaysia 3 days ago after a few weeks of endless shopping and stocking up with the basics as we have quite a few guests coming to join us along the way:) Caden loving this way of life! Cally preparing herself for seasickness as we leave for Indo on choppy seas:) We have already crossed the Malacca Straitts thank-goodness. We were supposed to leave two weeks ago already with our SA friends who own a large catamaran called Abundant Life but Brent changed his mind at the last minute as we wanted to cross in the light of the full moon. Abundant Life left without us but our USA friends on the monoh...
