No seasick tablets today...

There is a very noticeable difference in the swells today... much bigger:( We are in the real ocean now and no longer in the safer waters of the Malacca Straits. We are sailing next to the coast of the island of Simoleu. Caden finds a butterfly far from land!   Brent has marked an anchorage on the plotter and we are going to try and spend the day here and have some fun!! Travis has already taken the cover off the duck and the weather is fine, fine, fine:) We slept well last night! We all slept in our bedrooms for the first time on this ocean voyage. ( or so I thought) The hatch above our room was open and every time I opened my eyes- I could see a magnificent starry night looking down on us! Brent decided to check on the children in the middle of the night to see that all was good. I was paranoid because a day into our sail from Puket to the island of Pipilee, We woke up to a thud in the night and found Caden lying on the floor of his cabin with a bloo...

White sands and pale blue waters...

Land is over there... No it is over there.... Well we did not truly sail for very long before the wind dropped and took off to distant lands... ooh- I like motoring:) I can feel the yacht powering forward with determination to get to its destination-which by the way is an island called Simoleu. We should get there tomorrow at 7am. It is going to be so strange to be close to land again. I look forward to seeing yet another new place. I am dying to see white sands and pale blue transparent waters... Searching for Land... The island Asu-a dream come tru:) It is Tuesday the 14th of September 12.14pm. I had just gone to the bathroom when i heard the line of a rod singing the song of a " beeg" fish:) Pure excitement as the boat was brought to a complete holt and Brent reeled in with all his might...and then- a shark bit our fish and just its quivering big barracudda head was pulled onto the sugarscoop! It all happened so quickly-how ...

Plain sailing and dreaming about surf...

Caden shooting for the Stars! I can hardly remember yesterday that is how long each day is on the open seas. I do remember the absolutely beautiful sunset- again:) There was very little wind ( much to Brents disappointment as he is always rearing to do some real sailing instead of motoring:) ) I had a quick shower in the late afternoon and put on one of the little dresses I bought in Langkowi with our grocery money:) It is amazing how many items you can buy on sale in the supermarket when you are a little short on cash:) I tooks lots of photos trying to capture the sunset  as it set liquid gold and molten silver on the glassy smooth water to the right of Micah. And then to the left the sky clung mystically over the shadows and shapes of Japanese style landmasses and strange towering columns of clouds hung threateningly around us. What frightened Brent more though was the deep purple of the sky around the clouds... The purple sky looked like a giant bruise with a tempe...
