Sailing off into the Sunrise...

Sailing off into the sunrise...
The wind picked up during our anchorage in between the islands of Rok and Nok in Thailand. Micah started to spin around and around the anchor! We woke up to the sound of the anchor dragging. It is a very unsettling sound as you do not know especially in these waters, if there is shallow reef near by that your boat is going to swing on. The last thing one wants is to hear that awful sound of the boat scraping onto reef! Or worse, your boat drags and hits another boat near by while you are all sleeping. Well-once up, we stayed up and 3am to 4.30am we sipped tea and kept a watchful eye but all was good:)

This morning was so beautiful and calm with the storm clouds far away on the horizon.Brent decided before we leave this morning that we ALL need to clean the hulls of the boat and that involves plenty of scouring and scrubbing and getting wet.. It was a lot of fun! I only had one flipper and there was quite a current soaring between the hulls, so it was great exercise:)

Cal-Our next Charlize Theron:)...
Darren used Cody as a human mop holding him by his feet under the water and pushing him up and down while Cody scrubbed!:) We laughed:) !
No-one was supposed to go to the loo before we went in and especially while we were all under the boat! That is because "everything" goes straight out the boat... But  somebody-i am sure it was Charl:)- had to go and we all entered the water very warily- arrrrggh:))!

Cody and Cade:) Supermodels!

Hey a guy just paddled over from another boat near us- called TopTop. His wife is pregnant with their fourth baby! She was on her boat homeschooling their 6yr old daughter while the dad took the 4 yr old and the 15 month old  sons off the boat for a while! These guys have been sailing for 10 years! They are super fit and have climbed the highest mountains in all the countries that they have visited by boat! And they have done this with pregnancies and with babies. They go as far as they can to first base with them and then leave them and continue! Wow-what an adventure that  must be...
What a View! The Similan islands. Micah moored down below:)

Cody growing up ...fast!
When it was time to head on out of this anchorage- we battled to get our  anchor chain unravelled from around the coral and eventually Brent had to dive down and unwind it inch by inch...
Good Times!

Near the Emerald Cave...the entrance looks like this tiny hole in the cliff face...
We are now sailing to another island called Koh Muk. It has a huge Hong called The Emerald Cave. I am petrified! To get into this Hong (which is a 60m beach and water area INSIDE the cliffs and only accessible  via a 80 tunnel of pitch black darkness! Pirates used to use this place to hide their treasures!), you have to swim through a long dark cave that has water with who knows what in it and bats in the darkness just above your head!!! I am really not sure if I can do this one~! I am totally claustrophobic in small spaces -especially if there is water and darkness involved... terrified is a good word:)! Can I do this???

a nervous smile as we near the Emerald Cave...

"and how big is that surf in Scottburgh?"
