Getting the duck ready to take us to shore!



We have already arrived at our next stop after Koh Muk and the Emerald Cave (drama:)).

We are anchored at Koh Phi Phi- in milky green water alongside towering cliff walls. There are many more boats now than our first stop here  5 months ago. On the way here we stopped again at PhiPhi lee where The Beach was filmed. I was so excited about returning there as the last time we moored there for the night, I had taken such stunning photos and then i lost them all-forever:(

This time around was so different and disappointing because it is peak season now and the tourists are all over the place on the local little boats.  The once picturesque bay of aqua waters and perfect diving, was jammed with snorkellers, local boats with dangerous noisy propellors attached to long poles that slice through the waters -around the bathers! There was litter floating in the water,but I went diving with Brent and the children  as the last time my dive was cut short here as it was the day after Caden had fallen off his bunk bed in his sleep and had landed on his nose splitting it open! So this time i  just wanted to experience some more dive time:)

I had just swum a little further than my first dive last time:), when Caden started to cry and yell! He had been stung by little jellyfish! It was horrible but also so funny because ( and I hope he never reads this:) ) , he had managed to get a jelly fish in his baggies! He was screaming,"My balls, my balls have been stung!!"and all the bathers and snorkellers were staring in our direction to see what on earth had happenend!

Shame-to make matters worse for Caden, Brent just whipped his shorts off in the water and  Cadens yell changed to ," i am NAKED!" That got even more looks in our direction both from above and below the water:)

With Brent and I on either side of him, we propelled him back to the boat. Poor poor Caden...he had really been stung! It was the second time in 2 days that Caden had been stung-the first by a huge black bee and so the stingrose came out again..

.And it was also the second time that a naked male from Micah was swimming these waters:) The last time , we had gone to sleep here underneath a blanket of twinkling stars and woken up to all chaos-Nature whipping our tails with malicious humour!Brent had woken up in the early hours of the morning here to the sound of a SNAP! One of our mooring lines had snapped in the huge storm and wind that had picked up in the night! Brent had rushed on deck with a sarong wrapped around him and when he realised that our line had snapped and Micah was seconds from running aground on the shallow reef, Brent had dived in and the wind had snatched his sarong away leaving the crew momentarily stunned ( and they say scarred):) as they saw Brent and all his ...nakedness, swallow diving overboard:)to try re-tie the lines!
