THAILAND: God has a Sense of Humour:)

Me at Starbucks in Patong:)

It is 8am and we have woken up to our 2nd day in Boat Lagoon Marina in Phuket Thailand. I am still doing my blogs on our journey through Indo but have decided to also do recent blogs in between our Indo adventure or you will only be hearing our recent stories half way through next year:)).

Sharyn having a zombie
It is drizzling outside and when I went out just now to bring all the linen in  that I had hung up to dry on the boats rigging for the night, I saw that our boat was quietly being moved forward on our jetty by the local  marine staff. It just shows:) We could be stolen in Micah by Thai pirates and we would not even know until we woke up! I woke Brent up and we watched to see what type of boat would be moored behind us in this very tightly jammed marina.

Au Chalong anchorage in Phuket
A huge monohull like the boat from The Perfect Storm came sweeping importantly in from around the corner and she slotted herself in perfectly and  with a no nonsense brisk efficient attitude right behind us!

Her name Maya and with a clap of hands Maya was moored and Brent beamed at the middle aged equally brisk and efficient skipper and owner- British who stepped off the boat.
"Welcome!" Brent said to him, warmly.
"Thanks!"Andy said back, smiling as he whipped the final turn of the mooring line neatly around the cleat on the dock." Actually it is I who should be welcoming you," he said. " I live here. I own this spot. But thanks for welcoming me to my own home:)" I could almost hear the awkward hissing sound of air escape out of Brents open armed welcome:)) Brent had just welcomed the fellow who has lived here on his boat for 15 years! He is almost the Mayor in this Marina!
"God has a sense of Humour:)" Brent said.

Apparently on one of our island adventures to the Emerald Cave, Brent had emerged from this tunnel into the lagoon of the 60 metre Hong ( a little beach and bay trapped between  towering cliffs); As Brent popped out into the sunlight, an American fellow who was already in there beamed at Brent- flung his arms out in a sweeping arc and said "WELCOME!" to Brent."Wow- Thanks !" Brent said sarcastically followed by" Thanks for the welcome. So do YOU  LIVE  in here?" That really left the loud -speaking over- enthusiastic chap at a loss for words as he looked around at the little beach that he was standing on and then at Brent in confusion." No- I dont live here..."

Now as Brent says; he just did the same thing to someone else and it backfired a tad on him. God does have a sense of Humour:)!

Sailing next to a storm.
