Sunset smiles... |
Our highlights of yesterday was for most of us, dragging behind Micah in the middle of the deep deep blue ocean:)
The colour of the sea was an indescribable deep blue.
I was too nervous (typical) to drag because if I let the rope go, it would take at least 15 minutes before they could bring Micah back around to pick me up and my theory Big Ocean-Big Sharks:)!
Brent kindly stopped the boat for half an hour, so the children could cool down and also so that he could dive under the boat to check the annoids. Caden and I slipped into the inviting arms of the cool blue ocean...
All the impatience and pending negativity, were instantly broken as we all laughed and relaxed...
Cally"s Cooling off Smile:) |
I put goggles on and looked under water... soooo deep, neverendingly deep with daggers of sharp light piercing into the depths of "nothingness and everythingness"....
As the sun went down last night, we spotted a "fad" and we turned Micah around in its direction.A FAD is a large floating mass anchored in one spot. It's purpose is to attract fish like dorado who love to take refuge under floating debris, for the shade. Louie says that in SA they are highly illegal.
Brent cast his line and it landed right in the middle of the branches of the Floating Fad! He lost his spoon straight away as the boat was still moving.
Ah well- you win some and you lose a lot more when it comes to fishing:)
Cody hooked a small tuna then and we let it out as live bait. He tucked it into the rod holder. A few minutes later, he saw the rod tip slowly forward as a Beegie took the live bait...as the excitement built up-a fishermans worst nightmare-a knot in the line weakened it and the rod snapped back as our Beegie got away with our Smalley:)
As we turned Micah's nose back on her course and left the huge floating fad fading into the darkness of the incoming night, I was left with the thought- what would happen if we sailed right into one of these towering unlit Fads in the middle of the night???
Caden's Glee at cooling off! |
